Today was not the first day of preschool, we have been going now for a month as classes started the first week of September. Both CoCo and Quin go on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They love their school. They get to each lunch together and play on the playground at the same time but when it is time to say good bye to me, CoCo runs without looking back, "Bye Mama", she screams as she heads for her friends. Quin, however clings to me with an all out force, "I want my Mama!" and "Go, home now!" are often repeated over and over.
Today, we turned a corner. There was the usual clinging to me while we got out of the car and little murmurs of "no school..." Yet, he was calmer today and he entered his class still wanting me to hold him... until he saw the finger painting! He got down out of my arms and went right to work...barely noticing me leaving...and no tears!!! He did it, he decided school was ok...and he had a fantastic day.
School is fun...
But, going home is fun too!

Poor sweetheart....the struggle of facing a world with lots of people, but Preschool and Grade School years are wonderful.....the challenge comes later. :-)
