Something Beautiful

Every once in awhile something beautiful comes along. Having our kitty join the family was on of those special unforgettable things in our life.

Sounds weird to say about a cat, but she worked her way into my heart in such a short time.  I believe all the energy behind shopping for a cat last fall had something to do with her little soul calling out to me, she picked us and wanted to go home with us.  As you can probably tell by now, this story is a sad one. She met an untimely and sudden death this past weekend from a city fox, causing our family many tears and heartache from the loss.

Having her at our house cheered me up, she kept me company, calmed my anxiety, and did all those special things people say pets do.  She was a true comfort to me. She loved us so sweetly- she really loved Sherman-

CoCo is sad, she wants her kitty back.  Maybe as more days go by she will be more sad, I know she loved the cat and will miss her but she is not sure what death means yet...

Tovrea is having a much harder time, sadly I could only find one picture with him and the cat. He adored her, saying often she was the best cat in the world and we were so lucky to have her.  Last night, he said we were so lucky to have had two of the sweetest animals ever (referring to my old chocolate lab, Buster) and that at least they got to live with us for a time.

Ohhh, my heart!!!  Not just for missing that great kitty, but for my seven year old who is hurting now too.  It's hard to see your child have heartache (...understatement of the year).  These are the moments I find myself saying -stuff that away... don't think about it... don't let yourself hurt...

Even, Brian is torn up about it...and we all know he is not a cat person.
Good bye to my "something beautiful" - Kitty-Kitty Roxy-Boxy Pencilhorn...
we miss you sweet kitty!!

  2. Oh Rach! HOW INCREDIBLY SORRY I am for your and your family's loss!!!
I was PROFOUNDLY TOUCHED by your words and can very, very clearly feel the pain that everyone must be feeling at this time.
While "Kitty-Kitty Roxy-Boxy Pencilhorn" is already with all of you in Spirit, I'm sure she must be feeling that the best next step might be to adopt another furry feline friend in the near future...
Grats and I send our heartfelt sympathy to the SIX of you (since that includes Sherman)
