Roller Skating

CoCo had to have roller skates for Christmas.  Mostly because skates were a highly desired item on her big brothers list too.  Hmmm, skates for a 3 year old...

Well it happened... that Santa, he was thoughtful enough to bring the kind that attach to the outside of her shoes (perfect enough for a 3 year old) and lots of padded protection.

There has been begging for "Skating, can I put on my skatings?" I find it adorable that she calls the actual skates "skatings", one of the cute things she does that makes me chuckle to myself and smile! Most likely only adorable to me, and it is totally fine that you want to read faster now and actually just skim the rest of the story.

So, on to the story... there was great excitement today, the warm weather is here and we can try the skates outside! Ok...considering all the skating experiences have been contained on the rug in the living room, I was not sure how well this would go on hard unforgiving concrete.   Here is what it looked like:

She was either standing completely still:

Or sitting down...glowing, while just looking at her skates!

And that was that, it was enough to have me roll her out in front of the house, see herself out there, sit down, and enjoy!!

  2. Sorry, I (Gigi) wrote the below comment before, but it came written from Grat's Google acct. by accident, that's why I tried to delete it ("tried" being the key word :-)

That was indeed a sweet story Rach!!
Not only is it so cute to call them "skatings", but the fact that it made her day to get out of the house, into the scary concrete and not risk breaking anything, but rather to sit under the sun and admire her skates was priceless!
Sweet Coco-bean is growing so fast!
